  Highly recommend booking the River Trail Horseback Riding Adventure with Eco! Such a fantastic afternoon that will be an iconic memory of our trip to PE. JP and the cowboys were incredible guides that took us through such varied, beautiful terrain — farmland, rivers, mangrove lagoons, beaches! You can stretch your limits a bit if you want to go faster on the horses or learn more maneuvering — it’s definitely more interesting than your standard follow-the-leader horseback riding session. Fingers crossed for a stunning sunset but even without that, it’s so much fun.

  Efrain was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife. He was super friendly and picked us up and dropped us home, it was an awesome day! Otto also took some great photos - would definitely recommend if in Puerto Escondido!

  La verdad, si tienen la oportunidad de realizar el tour de bioluminiscencia, no la desaprovechen. Es una experiencia increíble que vale totalmente la pena. Además, quiero agradecer a JP por hacer del recorrido una experiencia aún mejor; fue un excelente guía, siempre atento y con muy buenas explicaciones. ¡Totalmente recomendado!

  Would book again Absolutely loved this tour. Unfortunately we were not able to find an English speaking guide and none of us knew more than very basic Spanish. We were able to still enjoy the trip and find dolphins, turtles and whales! What an incredible experience!

  EDIT (17.07.2026 – in response to the owner's reply below): The owner's reply states that meals are not included "as stated on our website." That is not accurate: the website clearly says the tour "includes one dish of traditional Oaxacan food," yet we had to pay for our meal ourselves. We do appreciate them acknowledging that the advertised mezcal tasting was never provided. On the language: we have no problem with someone not being a perfect English speaker — we aren't native speakers either. But on a tour advertised as bilingual, guests should be able to expect actual conversation and explanations in English, which largely didn't happen. On photos/videos: we were not asked for consent before being filmed. Nothing has been posted so far, but footage of us was taken, and we ask that none of it be published or used. Several points also went unanswered: a different guide came than the one announced the evening before, much of the day was spent waiting, and the driving felt unsafe. Our account stands as written, and we hope these points genuinely help to improve. ______________________________________________________________ Booked the English tour — got almost none of what was promised We did the Chacahua National Park (Sunset Experience) tour for two and were genuinely disappointed, especially given the price (MX$6,360 / 2× MX$3,000 + fees). The website clearly lists a professional bilingual guide, one dish of traditional local food and artisanal mezcal as included. In reality: – The evening before, we were told the name of our guide — but on the day a completely different guide showed up, with no explanation. – This guide was not bilingual. We had booked the English tour, but he spoke very little English, so we got almost no explanation or interaction the entire day. – The included food was not provided — we had to pay for it ourselves. – We never received any mezcal, although the tasting is advertised as included. – Easily 60% of the tour was waiting around, with little structure. – The driving was reckless and at times felt unsafe. – We were filmed and photographed for their social media without ever being asked for consent. The natural setting (mangroves, the arch, the bioluminescence) is beautiful — but that’s the park, not the operator. For what we paid, the value simply wasn’t there. We’ve done better-organised tours in other parts of Mexico for considerably less, with the included food actually included. Sadly can’t recommend this one.

After our previous tour company cancelled our horse back riding excursion 3 hrs before it started, Eco tours really saved us with a last minute spot! Our tour guide Oscar was incredible, we had the the best time horse back riding through the lagoon and the beach! Además, el trato del personal fue muy bueno, todos fueron amables y atentos durante el recorrido. En general, todo estuvo súper bien organizado y me sentí muy a gusto.  Verified  Muy bueno ¡Chacahua es un paraíso de mugre! Una completa estafa "No se dejen engañar por las fotos de internet; este lugar no tiene nada de paraíso. Es una pesadilla de suciedad e incomodidad. Para empezar, nunca hay luz, así que prepárate para soportar apagones eternos, calor sofocante, sin ventilador ni forma de cargar tu teléfono. La realidad de lo que vas a encontrar: * Contaminación y peste: La laguna está completamente negra, huele horrible y está llena de pescados muertos flotando por todos lados. Es un foco de infección. * Gente grosera y abusiva: El trato de los lugareños y lancheros es pésimo y déspota. Te cobran precios altísimos como si fuera un destino de lujo, cuando todo está abandonado. * Mugre por doquier: Hay basura acumulada en las playas y en el pueblo; no existe la menor higiene en los baños ni en la comida.  Verified  Mangroves, sunsets and bioluminescence We were picked up by Antonio from our hotel. He drove us to Laguna Chacahua. There we took a boat through the mangroves and over to the town of Chacahua and had a late lunch. We took a short hike to watch the sunset then back on the water for the bioluminescence. Antonio took such amazing are of us and we had a magical time! So worth it being cash and bug repellent. And plan for a long day.

 Verified  A Magical Morning We went on a sunrise tour. Met our guide at 5:45 and drove about 30 minutes to launching site. It was just my husband and I and our wonderful guide Juan Carlos. Took a short boat ride to get to the kayaks. We basically had the lagoon and mangrove to ourselves except for the multitudes of birds and occasional iguana. Paddled around for a few hours and learned about the ecosystem and took lots of photos. Capped off the morning with a beachfront Oaxacan breakfast. Totally recommend this company. A bit more expensive than some- but well planned experience that was essentially a private tour and excellent guide.

 Verified  Breathtaking! This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone that appreciates natural beauty and doesn't mind waking up early on vacation! I will never forget seeing the sun rise on the lagoon as the birds floated overhead. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we even enjoyed coffee while kayaking! I think we were out on the water for around two hours, but honestly my partner and I were so immersed that only the sunrise marked the passage of time. When we went there was one other tourist joining us in addition to the guide. Lunch on the beach after was also splendid. Really a breathtaking experience that I would gladly do again.

 Verified  Private driver I hired this company for their private driver service. I used them twice, once from Huatulco airport to our hotel in Puerto Escondido and again from PE to Oaxaca city center. We had Antonio and Juan Carlos as our drivers. They were both awesome! So accommodating and nice to talk with. I wish I had used this company to book our adventures while in Puerto Escondido. Highly recommend!

 Verified  Breathtaking tour in nature: unforgettable experience in a beautiful location What a wonderful experience!! Incredibly beautiful tour through nature; past palm trees, along lagoons, through rivers, along the beach. WAUW! We are upside down about this tour. Is definitely pricey but worth it.  Verified  GO TORTUGAS GO! WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! The beach alone was truly magnificent! Our guide was kind and very informative. What I loved about THIS turtle release, is that it is not as commercial as other ones and we each got about 7 babies to release!!! (Other tours that I looked into do not let each person have a bowl of turtles!) I was already forewarned that some of the babies will not successfully make it all the way to the water because of the vigilant seagulls & frigates! But some do, and they are only 2 hours old when you release them - so it is amazing to see them automatically scamper towards the water. Then, we were able to enjoy a splendid sunset on the beach and on the ride back - we enjoyed cervezas and waters!
