  Best bioluminescent tour This tour was absolutely amazing. We were picked up from our home and taken to Chicahua lagoon, which was done out of kindness and the tour operators desire for our group to have the best possible experience. There is a closer lagoon but they said it wasn’t as bright and vibrant so they drove us an extra 30 minutes to assure an excellent time in the water. The driver was kind and communicative, telling us about the areas we were driving through and we had plenty of time to swim and enjoy the magic of the lagoon! 5 stars all the way!   We highly recommend the Sea Turtle Release tour. Well-organized with clear communication leading up to the event, a prompt pick-up at our residence, and a guide/driver named Antonio who was the kindest, best conversationalist on the 30 min drive out to Escobilla Playa. We learned a ton about turtles, conservation, and general Mexican culture from him. The guide at Escobilla was informative as well and we each got to release 8 torguguitas. The guides were careful to wait until nearly dark in order to mitigate the risk of the circling birds to pounce on the vulnerable babies. What that meant is we got to hold 8 baby turtles in a bowl, watching their adorable movements and attempts to find the crest of the bowl to escape. They are seriously the cutest little critters. Really amazing experience getting to watch them (and watch over them) as they make their way to the sea for the first time. The guides were also happy to take great pictures of us holding the turtles at sunset.

  It was a really nice tour - the experience itself was amazing, we got to see the plankton and swim with it, it was very magical, almost Disney-like! We appreciate that organizers picked us up from our hostel and provided transportation and drinks during the trip.   Excellent Birding Sunset Tour of Lagoon: I was looking for a way to experience the natural beauty of Puerto Esondido as a relatively new birdwatcher. Our driver and guide, Ephraim, along with his boatman Edmondo, were both kind, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to show us wildlife. Ephraim spoke very good English and has lived in this area his whole life and was very familiar with the birds. He provided my hubs and me each with a pair of great binoculars, as well as a bird book and quick reference sheet to help us understand what we were seeing. The lagoon was alive with life as the sun went down, the freshwater river, the surrounding farmlands, mountains and coastal area made this trip an excellent one to see all facets of natural beauty. We'll definitely try the sunrise tour next time and highly recommend this quiet and informative way to spend your time in Puerto.

  We did the horse riding tour with Juan. The day was brilliant and so worth it, especially getting into the springs and river. The tour was advertised suitable for novices which it certainly was. I hadn't ridden before and you don't have to swim in the river but rather just bathe if you aren't a strong swimmer.

  Our Oaxaca Coast tour with EcoAdventures was the highlight of our time in Puerto Escondido! Our guide, Mario de Jesús, spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable about his home area, and took us to a number of interesting and beautiful spots along the coast. Activities during the day included a visit to the crocodile sanctuary, swimming and snorkelling, and transport in between was in an air-conditioned van. Highly recommend this tour and thank you Mario for being a fantastic guide!

After our previous tour company cancelled our horse back riding excursion 3 hrs before it started, Eco tours really saved us with a last minute spot! Our tour guide Oscar was incredible, we had the the best time horse back riding through the lagoon and the beach! Te adentra en diversos enclaves de la costa Oaxaqueña que son muy recomendables (a descartar la visita al manglar con cocodrilos).  Verified  Muy bueno ¡Chacahua es un paraíso de mugre! Una completa estafa "No se dejen engañar por las fotos de internet; este lugar no tiene nada de paraíso. Es una pesadilla de suciedad e incomodidad. Para empezar, nunca hay luz, así que prepárate para soportar apagones eternos, calor sofocante, sin ventilador ni forma de cargar tu teléfono. La realidad de lo que vas a encontrar: * Contaminación y peste: La laguna está completamente negra, huele horrible y está llena de pescados muertos flotando por todos lados. Es un foco de infección. * Gente grosera y abusiva: El trato de los lugareños y lancheros es pésimo y déspota. Te cobran precios altísimos como si fuera un destino de lujo, cuando todo está abandonado. * Mugre por doquier: Hay basura acumulada en las playas y en el pueblo; no existe la menor higiene en los baños ni en la comida.  Verified  Mangroves, sunsets and bioluminescence We were picked up by Antonio from our hotel. He drove us to Laguna Chacahua. There we took a boat through the mangroves and over to the town of Chacahua and had a late lunch. We took a short hike to watch the sunset then back on the water for the bioluminescence. Antonio took such amazing are of us and we had a magical time! So worth it being cash and bug repellent. And plan for a long day.

 Verified  A Magical Morning We went on a sunrise tour. Met our guide at 5:45 and drove about 30 minutes to launching site. It was just my husband and I and our wonderful guide Juan Carlos. Took a short boat ride to get to the kayaks. We basically had the lagoon and mangrove to ourselves except for the multitudes of birds and occasional iguana. Paddled around for a few hours and learned about the ecosystem and took lots of photos. Capped off the morning with a beachfront Oaxacan breakfast. Totally recommend this company. A bit more expensive than some- but well planned experience that was essentially a private tour and excellent guide.

 Verified  Breathtaking! This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone that appreciates natural beauty and doesn't mind waking up early on vacation! I will never forget seeing the sun rise on the lagoon as the birds floated overhead. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we even enjoyed coffee while kayaking! I think we were out on the water for around two hours, but honestly my partner and I were so immersed that only the sunrise marked the passage of time. When we went there was one other tourist joining us in addition to the guide. Lunch on the beach after was also splendid. Really a breathtaking experience that I would gladly do again.

 Verified  Private driver I hired this company for their private driver service. I used them twice, once from Huatulco airport to our hotel in Puerto Escondido and again from PE to Oaxaca city center. We had Antonio and Juan Carlos as our drivers. They were both awesome!  Verified  Breathtaking tour in nature: unforgettable experience in a beautiful location What a wonderful experience!! Incredibly beautiful tour through nature; past palm trees, along lagoons, through rivers, along the beach. WAUW! We are upside down about this tour. Is definitely pricey but worth it.  Verified  GO TORTUGAS GO! WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! The beach alone was truly magnificent! Our guide was kind and very informative. What I loved about THIS turtle release, is that it is not as commercial as other ones and we each got about 7 babies to release!!! (Other tours that I looked into do not let each person have a bowl of turtles!) I was already forewarned that some of the babies will not successfully make it all the way to the water because of the vigilant seagulls & frigates! But some do, and they are only 2 hours old when you release them - so it is amazing to see them automatically scamper towards the water. Then, we were able to enjoy a splendid sunset on the beach and on the ride back - we enjoyed cervezas and waters!
